An Arizona native, I was raised in Glendale, and proud to say that I experienced, firsthand, the Peoria Unified School District having attended Desert Palms Elementary, Oakwood Elementary, and Cactus High Schools.
I started my military career in the Arizona Army National Guard (356th Signal Corps) with basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. As the first Gulf War got underway, I joined the active duty ranks of the Navy. While undergoing training for nuclear powered submarines, I earned admission into the U.S. Naval Academy, and received my commission as an officer in 1997.
Throughout my first assignment, I served as a search and rescue helicopter pilot during various deployments throughout the Pacific ocean and surrounding areas, followed by a tour as a flight instructor in Corpus Christi, Texas. I went on to become a Aerospace Engineering Duty Officer in support of key defense acquisition programs, most notably the V-22 Osprey. I finished my Naval career as a member of the intelligence community supporting the National Reconnaissance Office.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Physics, a Master's degree in Astronautical Engineering, and a Master's degree in Program Management. I am also recognized by the Project Management Institute as a Project Management Professional. I currently live in Goodyear with my wife, Jen, (a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner) and our 3 children. We are a very active family thanks to track meets, soccer games and our involvement with the Avondale branch of Christ's Church of the Valley (CCV).
Our Nation has unlimited potential! In order for us to realize our potential, we need to step up and demand more from our elected officials. We need to insist not only for rigorous representation for District 8, but for impactful leadership as well. I intend to deliver more for the 8th Congressional District. If you're interested in elevating District 8 to a new level, please connect with me and help make it happen! Let's get to know each other in advance of the 2018 midterm elections, and if you like what you hear and see, perhaps you might consider awarding me your vote. Together, we can make a meaningful difference -- for our families, our communities, and our country.
After 24 years of Naval service as a helicopter pilot, aerospace engineer, acquisition professional and program manager within the intelligence community, I remain passionate about continued public service, and I look forward to representing my native district and state!
